Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Prep all your ingredients and set them aside. Have cooked rice ready too.
Step 2
First make the Teriyaki sauce. In a big bowl, add all the Teriyaki ingredients, mix well and set aside. If you’d like your Teriyaki sauce to be spicy, add in some chopped chili into the mix.
*This teriyaki sauce can be used for so many other dishes too, like teriyaki skewers, teriyaki noodles, dressings and roasted teriyaki vegetables!
Step 3
Time to coat the Tofu with the starch flour. In a large bowl toss the cubed tofu with the startch flour and evenly coat the cubes of tofu. Once they are evenly coated, dust off excess flour on each tofu one by one and set dusted tofu onto a plate and set aside.
Step 4
Heat a large pan on medium high heat with 1 tsp oil of choice. Once oil is heated, place all the dusted cubed tofu onto the pan and pan fry evenly on each side until they have crisp up. Make sure all the sides are crisp and remove the tofu from the pan and onto a plate.
Step 5
On the same pan, add in 1/2 tsp of oil and then add in the chopped green beasn and cubed radish. Sautée lightly for a couple of mintues and add in the Teriyaki sauce that was made earlier.
Step 6
Bring heat down to medium low so that the Teriyaki is on a low simmer. Let simmer for a couple of minutes while constantly stiring slowly. After a couple of minutes, add in crisp tofu and make sure all the tofu is evenly coated with the Teriyaki sauce. Keep stiring with a spatula for a couple of minutes. After a couple of minutes, the mixture will have thicken and the dish is ready!
Step 7
It’s time to plate! In a serving bowl, place some rice and some of the Gooey Teriyaki Tofu. Then garnish with freshly chooped scallion and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Enjoy!
